Will be building the Revell 1/32 early 5NA with a resin 10NA conversion. Markings are for Contrary Mary. Lots of extras have been done like drilling out the exhaust pipes, wiring the radio batteries, adding riveting detail on some areas and creating my own seat belts out of wine foil.

I spent a while masking the main gear well to get the stringers and crossmembers sprayed GZC. The parts are not glued but just in place to show the effect of the NMF and GZC contrast. Now waiting for the Fundekal stencils to arrive. Once applied I can start to plum up the wells with lots of wiring.

Looks fantastic! I have taken to building models on a larger scale, they are way easier to work with than the 1/48 scale.
Keep posting your progress.

Wow! Love the detailing
Thanks.

The build had stalled out cause of distorted clear parts. Revell sent me replacements but are in equally bad shape as the ones Theyvare to replace. Re contacted Revell again and got a fast apologetic response back so they are sending replacements again. Hopefully this time they send good quality parts.

The distorted areas are circled in yellow.03DD6D2B-4616-4D67-80F8-38C8CBA745ED.jpeg92681F82-FE3A-4BCF-BD8C-9E5FE18164E2.jpeg

The parts came in from Revell but they are just a tad better but not as good as I hoped.
In the mean time I sprayed gloss black enamel then polished the paint to a super smooth and glossy finish . The wing panel lines were puttied up to the center chord wise then sanded smooth and sprayed metallic silver enamel just like the real plane was.
The fuselage and two lower wing panels were sprayed Alclad polished aluminum and a couple of panels were sprayed in contrasting shades. Most of the nose will be covered up in a checkerboard pattern.

Thanks for the responses, been away for a while. Got some work done on Mary.

Added wing tank hoses from discarded electrical wires, did all the checkerboarding decals. The flaps are on a nd down, and getting ready to apply oil streaks.

So the kit has extra tanks and some nice 500 lb. bombs that would look good in a vignette setting so I had an old picture frame to use for the base, some Sculptamold and water to make a tarmac. Taped up the edges to protect the wood.

The Sculptamold was mixed and poured, smoothed out and expansion joints added.

Then craft acrylics were used to paint and drybrush the tarmac. Oil stains were added.

Figuring out positioning things. The disposible paper tanks and bombs need paint and decals.

Brake lines were also added to the main landing gear.
