Hey

I picked up this Balsa Model the other day at a Thrift Store for 2 Bucks.

I have never tried a balsa model before.

Any words of wisdom?

Glue recommendations?

Measure twice, cut once.
That's absolute old school! I look forward to seeing your build!

I love building the old "stick & tissue" models! Get you a piece of white ceiling tile, it's kinda like press board that you can stick pins in. I think Lowes or Home Depot carries the stuff. Lay the plans out over the board and then use wax paper over your plans. This helps keep your plans nice. Then pin down your balsa parts which may require a bit of sanding to get a good fit. and then use the Zap super glue. All it takes is a small drop, just enough to wet the balsa joint. After you glue your parts together then a bit of sanding and your ready to cover the parts. I assume the kit came with some tissue in it? The tissue is applied with clear dope. I'm sure you can check out You Tube and find a clip of a modeler doing this process. After the tissue is attached to the structure it is shrunk with a mist of water.
Have fun and take your time! I have been building flying models for about the past 55 years and still always have a project on the bench and way to many models hanging from my shop ceiling! Can you have to many models?
Keep us posted on your progress.
Larry
