Not completely sure. I can guess it was an acrylic based spray because on the tin I remember it was recommended for use on acrylic artworks (not sure whether this assumption is correct).

I have done some painting over the past week. Originally sprayed Tamiya Flat Aluminium but thought it was a little too strong. Pre-shading with Tamiya Flat Black. Pre-Shaded Paint After
