1/35 Tamiya Chieftain Mk. 5 from CFB Suffield, 1970's

Other than the PE you see, everything else is OOB. I'll be using the kit barrel, but I'm going to drape it in camo netting to hide the nasty seam line over the thermal wrapping and buckles. As for the tracks, I'll be using the rubber band tracks, unless... Lots of the Takom Chieftain kit...

1/35 Tamiya Chieftain Mk. 5 from CFB Suffield, 1970's

IMG_1550 by Brett Watt, on Flickr I do love me some cool PE on a tank. I really find it therapeutic! IMG_1552 by Brett Watt, on Flickr This, in addition to the assembly and extensive sanding of all 12 road wheels, is where I am at. I've put in about 8 hours a day at the workbench yesterday...

Re: 1/144 Revell Boeing 747-400 "Ed Force One" Update time! I just realized that I only have 10 days until I have to present this. Time to get cracking on these engines! I pulled these off the sprue, cleaned them up, and primed them in Stynylrez this morning. When I got home and got...

Re: 1/144 Revell Boeing 747-400 "Ed Force One" Well... I have kind of already buttoned up the landing gear bays... :P I did inquire with Revell, but it was going to be an 8-12 week wait before I saw the sprue. Wedding & due date on July 2, so I wasn't going to be able to wait that long.

Re: 1/144 Revell Boeing 747-400 "Ed Force One" When it's on the model, it's quite good. The issue I have with it is the process of getting it on there in the first place. My first two bottles of white have gotten so thick that they are almost un-spray-able. I've thinned them down with some...

Re: 1/144 Revell Boeing 747-400 "Ed Force One" The last two weeks have been a lot of filling and seam repair. I have used a variety of techniques to accomplish this: home-brew styrene filler + Extra Thin, plastic strip shims, plain old filler putty, and building up layers of material using...
