Re: U.S. Navy Brewster F2A2 Buffalo help So this is as far as I am at the moment. First time I've tried pre-shading..... still learning. As for the model its old and the decals are not the best, but I'm enjoying trying some techniques.

Has anyone built here I want to find out how masking the canopy worked out. I've tried to smooth out to show the recesses but it's so tight that the tamiya tape does not expose the detail

Congratulations Chris. I'm not surprised by your medals you're very talented and I'm def learning a lot by just watching your build, I'm sure the scale model addict mag will rope you in to do an article or at least I hope so. Will really like to read a full breakdown of your how to's.....

This look great! I've been looking at this kit this week and I'm very tempted to purchase one. How was the build? (typical tamiya, easy assembly, everything fits well)

In South Africa it doesn't seem like we have what you guys use as a varnish. I tried using one of these but its does not seem to work. is there a particular drying time require between layers? and must the layers just be like a misty layer? how does it level out? any advise?

It did go very quickly, late nights early morning and 4 days of nothing but build build build. I'm thinking doing another model, but since the theme is dirty I might have to much to do still on this one.

It looks funny in the cock pit photo, but yes its the right way around.
