Well after months of waiting. Here is the official YouTube video illustrating how we 3D Printed and built this 2/5ths scale model of the Miller 91.... Enjoy!!!
3D Printing: Building the 1927 Miller 91 race car
Here I am goofing off behind the wheel LOL ;D
Here she is finally at our show, it actually looks small in that 20' booth...
We even came up with a shirt we gave away to people who tweeted at the show.
So here she is... With and without the final number (dry rub transfer) which we had only just ordered the day before. Nothing like waiting til the last minute.
These photos your seeing are 5 days before our industry trade show in Pittsburg (June 10th)... We have a videographer lined up to do a time lapse of our assembly, which I'll post on YouTube at the end of this month.
Anyway, these next pictures are our pre fit checks before the filming.
Thanks for all the kind words from everyone.
Sorry I haven't posted lately, we've been real busy before the Holiday weekend...
Anyway here is the final assembly of the Miller 91.
We sent a lot of the parts out for Vacuum Metalizing, it's the brightest most "chrome like" finish you can get... However the frame and front transmission we had Nickel Plated in order to add strength to the ABS plastic chassis and mimic the actual cars patina.
The body was built in an epoxy resin process called SLA (the original 3D printing process)... Here it is being removed from one of our largest machines...
Thank you for the kind words, I have had a few people ask already if we will make smaller scale versions as kits... we'll see if theres really enough interest.
Anyway, here's the next batch of photos ;D
The Tire has raised lettering which we built in a elastomer, then painted and inserted into the tire for a raised look... The Rim looks great and is ready for paint...
