Small update: I became a daddy a few weeks ago! So I have been doing a lot of burping and late night backrubs but she does occasionally sleep! Here is the plane with some washes

Hey hey! Yup there was one flying for the RNZAF I'm doing this one as part of a bmf group build I'll be painting on the nav lights after fixing the Oops I did Decals are on their way from Ventura decals. Metal is two shades of alclad and the white and black are tamiya acrylics.

Now that's a fine looking wildcat. I'm reading First Team and getting a whole new appreciation for this little fighter. I have one in the stash and you are inspiring me to break it out.

Its a great kit except for that mold line on the fuselage - a paint to deal with that one! Anyhow - this was a great build for me, I did it twice so good luck with yours!!!

Scott and everyone at SMA - thanks so much for putting this on! I just submitted my entry. I really enjoyed getting this model done within the 3 months and the other builds are gorgeous. There is something about shows and contests that gets my creative side going - seeing everyone else's...

Thanks guys! I enjoyed building it. I now have a -1, -1A, -4 Early, -4 Late, -5, -5NL in the collection. I really need a -1D in there somewhere!!
