Yup, they may be it. My rule of thumb, a solid day or two to let it cure. That's why most people who dip canopies in Future give it a few days to cure before they handle them.
How long did you let the Future cure? Future, while it can be great, does have some downsides, one being it takes a long time to fully cure and go hard.
It'd suggest Tamiya clear or anther gloss product over Future.
For sure! The only one this ban is hurting is Revell. BanDai will continue to sell kits and those in the U.S. that want them will buy them from eBay etc. Sure they won't be in the LHS but I don't think that's much of the market these days anyway.
Retailers are doing what Disney tells them to. Disney tells BanDai, BanDai tells HLJ. HLJ is a stand up company that values their partnership with BanDai follows suit.
The issue here isn't really about Revell it's about Disney. They could care less about us modelers, we are a very very...
I haven't commented on this as the Star Wars thing doesn't get me riled up. What I can share with you, I have a client that makes children's toys and they have a license from Disney for Star Wars Products. Based on my conversations with my client I can almost guarantee that Disney is the one...
I'm definitely not saying they're bad paints but like you said they're acrylic based. They're not buffable and therefore it's impossible to buff them like you can with Alclad etc. they will be great for certain applications but for those who really want the best metal finish it'll always be a...
These are probably the best metalics available in Acrylic form they definitely don't perform like Alclad or the other metalizers available. they are still great paints but their not designed to go head to head with Alclad.
Unfortunatley this wont be a quick endevor. Primer then metal base base, then hairspray, then the oxide color. You'll have to chip that back. Seal that in with clear coat. then you can use another layer of hairspray, then top coat, then chip that back.
I know more than a few people who have gone down this path. They LOVE it! With the right tank, regulator, and moisture trap, you'll have yourself a very nice setup.
