James May's 1:1 Spitfire
« on: Wed Feb, 01, 2012, 04:50:AM »
This is likely old news (show premiered two years ago), but I just stumbled upon this on Hulu. James May had a TV show based on old classic toys. In this episode he makes a 1:1 scale Airfix Spitfire.

Oh! I saw this program a while back, and I highly suggest watching the other segments of May's series. These are the kinds of shows they need on the television, not some mindless garbage!

Also, the 1:1 Spitfire actually collapsed shortly after due to a compromised structural integrity. The RAF Museum (?) recently had it refined to support itself and be durable.

"Into the fires of Battle! Unto the anvil of War!" Salamander war-cry.
