Red Tails
« on: Sat Jan, 21, 2012, 01:15:AM »

hey guys, I just got back from watching this movie Red Tails.
I have to say I was pleasantly impressed.
The CGI was very well done.
Good movie.  Go see it and then head to your LHS and pick up some planes (I did).
I give it two thumbs up!
 ;)

Oh! I was about to see this movie with my little brother, but the rain was crashing like thunder. If the weather clears up, I'll go see it. Worst case scenario is wait for it to go on DVD  :-\

Now about them kits...  ;D

Excellent movie.
Can safely say that I see a certain set of markings for a Mustang build in the future.
May also do a "pretty boy" Me262 to go with it.

Lol, the markings are already in the new 1/46 amd 1/72 Tamiya Turkegee kit.
 ;D

But I'd love to find the markings for the P-40's.

It was a pretty good movie, everyone at the theater where I saw it clapped at the end.  I don't see that at many movies these days.

Same thing happened at the theatre where I saw it.
This is the type of movie I'll pay to go see a second time!

Do you think the modeling industry will follow along the lines of the comic book guys (Marvel and DC Comics) and start making WWI and WWII movies?
I mean the technology is there now to make CGI aircraft movement look real (Red Tail proves it).

It would be nice if Disney (well anyone actually) would make a movie about WWI or WWII ad modeling to influence today's kids to get into the hobby and keep it going for another generation.

What do y'all think?

It's a nice idea...but something tells me they write the plots in order to easily develop a video game that matches the movie.
