Actually Chris, I would like to see a pic of yer farm. Sheep, lamb and all. You know my wife has always wanted a farm. She is and animal person,..grew up with them. I like animals too but I don't enjoy shoveling manure like she does.  :P

Oh yes, there's timing for ya!  I was hoping you'd get this one "off the ground" soon Chris.  I've got my old Revellogram Dauntless in primer, but now I'll be putting it off to follow your technique on the paintwork.  Mine has raised detail (lots of it) but I managed to get the seamwork and repairs done without obliterating any of it.  That was kinda tricky!  Very nice review on the kit! The etch flaps on yours will definitely kick the realism up a notch.  Look forward to watching you do a job on this one Buddy!!
Betcha can't eat just one...

Jeff.

Great in-box review Chris!!

You may already know-- but for the others-- the two different tail wheels represent land and carrier versions.  The smaller one is a solid rubber tire (tyre?) used for hard carrier landings...and the bigger pneumatic version was for airfield-based aircraft.  Been reading and researching SBD's for over a decade now-- it's my favorite-- so I sure am looking forward to this!  I have mostly Accurate Miniature kits in the stash, but do have one Hasegawa US Army A-24 Banshee on the pile...been putting it off due to the indents ;)

WOW .. :)  Thanks for the interest fella's and Im glad you are all looking forward to this one ,it is a nice kit and so far I havent found any problems  :)

Jeeves ,you are correct about the tail wheel ,I done a little more research after finding the two different versions in the box ,Although as far as I can gather all the SBD-1's were land based ? I do stand to be corrected tho  ;)

I'll be back a bit later with the first build update .

Chris.

Hey Chris. Didn't have anytime yesterday to check out the vid and read much. Just getting caught up this morning. This is one of my favorite Navy birds so I'll be following. I'm interested to see how the brake flaps work out.
Looking forward to the next vid and WIP pics
