P-47D 'Big Ass Bird'

Hi folks ,

This is just a 'WIP' .Its another quick out of the box build for the shop ,Im hoping to have most of the paint done by Wednesday and maybe finished at the weekend ...thats the plan anyway  ::)

Its Academys 1/48 scale P-47 ....nice kit and she'll be finished in these colours .....

Cool Chris. I had a G.C. for my LHS and picked up an Academy P-47 this last weekend. Looking forward to following your build (as always).

Looking nice!  The instrument panel- how do you paint the gauges and suck? Drybrushing? Decals? It looks so perfect.

As I said ,this is just a wip as Im under a bit of pressure at the minute ,but Im hoping to have an update mid week ,if all goes well she should be in paint using Alclad II Aluminium and Burnt metal .

Nice to know I suck ???   ...lol  least you're honest  ;D   , I know what you mean ,only joking  ;)
There was no instrument Decals in this kit ,but the detail is well molded ,so the panel got a coat of flat Black followed by some gentle Dry brushing (light Grey ) After that I give it a very thin Black wash ,the wash helps to kill the dry brush effect a bit ,then I just picked out a few lights and things  ;)
