Now that tip on the rigging is something new to me. Thanks for sharing.

The ship is looking cool. Especially from the lower 3/4 view of the front. Rigging adds nice detail that will make it stand out from other builds of similar subject.

Nice stuff T, love the screws.

You better bring to this to Valleycon, along with all your others. I can already hear lots of jingling at the end of that day.

I can row a boat, canoe?

Todd, I'd be PROUD to have your Yukikaze sail escort with my Nagato! (they probably did in real life and your model looks like real life to me!)

Congrats...WELL DONE!! -Tim

Hey Norm!!   Sorry for the late response..had a few "things" in Life come up in the past couple weeks.   No, The ship wasn't very big at all.  The US called their own Destroyers, the Tin Can Navy...thinking your getting the picture. ;D

Finally getting back up to speed on my build here.

So, just recently, I began the weathering process.  I chose to give this little girl a wash first, clear coat, then the decals.

Using AK Interactive's; Brown Blue Wash, I applied a light was...actually closer to a filter, to the entire ship.

I was able to add some small chipping to start , on the hull.  Then a quick clear coat went down and I was ready for some decals.

Next came another quick clear coat and it was on to some weathering for me. ;)  I started out along where the Boot-stripe, the black line that usually runs along the waterline.  Here I began applying a scum-line to the ship.  This is the area where the water hit the ship and deposits of salt, oil, dirt and algae collect.  I began with a light coat of AK's Dust Effects.

I added some runoff spots to the side of the hull as well...many many more layers to go!

Onto more weathering. More lightening from salt and streaking grime, slime, rust and more!!!

Thanks for hanging in there and for stopping by!!!

 ;)

Cheers!
