Well I'm very late into the game, and after looking around internet land, all I found for this kit was a mask set and after market decals, which I passed on both. I'm not sure if I'm going to tackle scratch building for the first time with the flaps on this thing. May just build it straight out of the box.

Always saw the Osprey as an interesting concept.
I look forward to seeing your build

OK I decided at 5 in the morning that I should try to give the interior more going on so this is turning into a scratch build sorta. Mainly cannibalized a broken p-38 and used cockpit parts in different spots up front

http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/k522/amateurmodeler/osprey7.jpg
of course they will all be painted to match the rest of the interior. I think I will put some putty around some of the panels to blend them in a little better
ps if you have a photobucket account send me a pm on here with a link to your site so I can follow it. Time for bed

Looking good. You've made the detail stand out really well here

still working on using washes landing gear wheel well below:
http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/k522/amateurmodeler/Aviation/ospreygrar.jpg
set the cockpit in place, and attached the fuselage halves together. The props are coming along and the wheels are done
bought some tamiya extra thin cement and some mr masking from sprue brothers:
http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/k522/amateurmodeler/Aviation/ospreywindshield.jpg
came out better than trying to find these lines under tape, the frame is very faint on the canopy, should look more like a plane, er... helicopt...uh..."aircraft" tomorrow

props painted, just need future, decals, and a flat coat:

closeup of prop hubs:

mockup for assembly:
http://i1114.photobucket.com/albums/k522/amateurmodeler/Aviation/ospreyprop.jpg
unfortunately I don't have time to try and scratchbuild the flaps down with the props in an upwards pointing position, however I did come across some photos of these aircraft parked with the props in the forward position.
overall picture of aircraft before paint:

and one more of the nose "junk":

already primed it, and I have some stuff to fill, so I ask, what should I use? Been thinking about some Mr Surfacer or some kind of putty that's easier to work with than the testors stuff. Or maybe baking soda? Opinions?

Looks good. the Mr. Surfacer is a really good product for filling small sinks, and seams. I'm just trying it out right now, so I'm still learning what it can do. There Is a good link to a Mr. Surfaced article here on the forum.

.
Hope that helps. I can't comment on filling with baking soda - I have not tried that yet.

I have been having camera problems so I will tell you what has been going on. Well I primed it, filled some seams and did my pre shade. Then directions say to use model master dark ghost grey for the top and light ghost gray for the bottom. I did that and sprayed a coat of future. I am pretty disappointed with the finish. I have a gritty texture which I am not really worried about cause I can fix that but you can't see the shade difference between the two colors. So I'm thinking about going back over it with a darker shade of grey and see how that looks. Keep you posted......
