• Out Of Box is allowed
• After Market products are allowed
• Kitbashes are allowed
• Scratch builds are allowed
• No scale restrictions
• Enter as many times as you'd like

SPECIAL THEME - AFTER-LIFE (new build*)
Anything that finds a use after it's normal life has come to an end. From tanks made into firetrucks, to suburban mini-vans made into death machines, to zombies, to the world after man, to a rusty Crown Victoria and everything in between. Includes machines/vehicles 'reconfigured' for alternate uses, 'MAD MAX' style vehicles and general post apocalyptic mayhem.

*What is a new build? A new build is a kit that you have not started...at all. No removing parts from sprues, no cleanup, no gluing, no painting. Parts that have fallen off sprues is OK.

You can: open the box, open the bags, look at the sprues & read instructions.

80% Flesh > Figure Category
Military Vehicle > Armor Category
Robots & Ma.k.> Sci-fi Category
Vehicle (Tank, Car, Boat, Spaceship etc...) with a terrain covered base AND figure > Diorama Category
Vehicle (Tank, Car, Boat, Spaceship etc...) with a terrain covered base NO figure > Category placement subject to review by contest admins -
Only ARMOR, AIR, SCI-FI, VEHICLES, FIGURES, DIORAMAS & AFTER-LIFE category entries qualify for Best of Show vote.
Each kit/build can only be entered in ONE CATEGORY (ie: A tank cannot be in ARMOR and then placed in a diorama and entered in the DIORAMA category)
All contestants agree that SMA can use entry photos on scalemodeladdict.com, marketing materials and products.
Models entered in previous SMA contests cannot be entered in the 2011 Big Spring Contest.
Competitors are required to pay a $5 entry donation for each kit they enter upon entering the competition. This is to help cover costs only and hopefully will keep contestants motivated beyond the fantastic prizes offered.

HOW TO ENTER

STEP ONE
All categories (below) marked with new build must be just that: a new build as of April 1st 2011. A photo of unbuilt kit with a current newspaper showing date is required to keep everyone honest.
Send email to this address with the following information:

• Your name
• Your FORUM USERNAME
• Mailing address
• Kit name
• Scale
• Manufacturer
• Category you wish to enter the build in
• Photo of unbuilt kit with a current newspaper showing date

STEP TWO
Once your build is complete submit via email to this address:

• Five (5) photos of finished model
• Three of the pictures should be a front view, top view, and side view. The remaining images are optional and can be used to show off specific details or just to shoot the model from some of its more better angles. Image file dimensions must be minimum 800x600px @ 72dpi
• Model description, including how you built the model, special techniques applied
