Alrighty,

So, what other hobbies do you do?  This is how I spent my Sunday morning!

https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B57LVuaBekZHNmhoSEN3OFFmVW8

I am practicing for the Zombie Apocalypse.

wow the we cant even fire as you would say it over there bb guns without the police getting involved..going for our honeymoon next year to new york i don't know if its possible for us to fire any kind of guns while im there i really hope so just wnat to see how it feels

I'm sure you can find a public range where you can shoot.  Even if you had to drive a bit to find a place to shoot you have to do it at least once.  There is nothing like it!!!

I'm an avid mineral collector, and geologist by profession. I love to spend a Saturday trekking into the Colorado Rockies and bash rocks open with a sledgehammer and collect awesome crystals! I've amassed quite a collection and at this point it rivals my model collection. In fact I spent much more time on high mountains and underground mines this summer than working on models.

I also have a growing hobby of retro video gaming, Sega genesis in particular.

Edit:

Spud, I also played EVE, loved that game but the sociopathic player base finally broke my camel's back, sadly. I made a number of YouTube videos for eve.

I use to have a huge collection of retro games and systems, focused on Sega.  I had everything from the original Pong to Sega Dreamcast - But nothing "newer" than that.  I have been selling off most of my collection.  I am in the process of building a MAME cabinet.
A BIG Thanks to all the folks who share their knowledge, and for giving me the inspiration to push the limits in this great hobby!

Been playing playing bass guitar for quite a while. got into it a bit more seriously about 5 years ago. Currently in a band with a bunch of old buddies, covering classic rock stuff. I had a real nice Fender "Geddy Lee" Signature Jazz bass which I had to give up, was a really heavy bass and it bothered my back to play for any more than an hour or so. Replaced it with slightly lighter and infinitely more versatile Schecter Diamond series 5 string. The lure of the Fender basses never faded though so I've added a Fender American "special" Precision Bass about a month ago. its a hybrid bass with a P bass body and Jazz neck.

Fender "Geddy Lee" Jazz bass.

And the Fender American Special Precision Bass

I would keep a garden, vegetables, more specifically, but the squirrels around here are a real plague.  Rabbits, too, they're real varmints, they've gone after my evergreen shrubs, too.  I do get target practice with an air rifle, though.

Sorry for dragging this one up from the basement, but I figured those who already answered won't have to update if they don't want to.

I have way too many hobbies, which is partly why the model building goes so slow for me.

My other hobbies, listed in order of how much time I spend with them:
  • Playing Euphonium, Baritone, Trombone, and Tuba with the Ice House Brass band and San Angelo Community Band (instruments as needed... I don't play them all at the same time)
  • Surf the 'net - cruising through a few forums mostly, usually learning new things about stuff I need to do
  • Drawing, airbrushing, and creating computer graphics and webpages
  • Building, modding, tweaking, and repairing computers
  • Working on my cool cars... working on the daily drivers are pretty much just chores
  • Racing remote control cars (mostly 1/10 nitro-powered on-road racers - 70+ actual mph)
  • Building scale models
  • Building furniture and woodworking (usually, as needed)

So, what do you do for fun when you're not building models?

I spend far too much time playing "The Old Republic"
I also work in Poser creating 3d figure-based work
Picking up from this one, I can now add working on ideas for cosplay (Mostly Star Wars based)
Done some 3d modeling as well, but not anywhere near pro with it

I also have too many hobbies:

Horticulture and gardening--if it has chlorophyll I'm totally into it!
RC Helicopters
Woodworking, but I'm not even approaching amateur here yet.
Trolling all the scale model info on the internet.  Youtube is great for learning, but a total time-suck...
Reading actual paper books.  Guess I'm still old school there.

And I'd like to think I farm professionally, but my wife seems to think that's my biggest hobby.

Looks like I'm in good company with all you multi-talented individuals, who also have to juggle your time between hobbies.  8)

This is a great topic!

Maybe I missed it, but, I'm surprised to not see more vinyl record collectors on here. Im obsessed with music, have been since a very early age, its my one true deep rooted passion in life. I'm a guitar player and a drummer, I've played in numerous bands in my hometown over the years and I feverishly collect music on vinyl. At this point in my life it has moved beyond hobby and into obsession and addiction.

My second obsession is underground comic books. If there are any underground comic nerds in this forum you all will definitely get where my username comes from. Other than music, I love to draw, and I went to college briefly for illustration and graphic design.

And finally cooking! What started as a hobby has become my full time job and thats fine because I love to cook. I am a chef for a catering company in my town and it is the most rewarding job I could ask for.

Unfortunately, life doesn't leave me with a lot of free time for hobbies.   I am clinging to model building....

I use to collect Japaneese toys,
Attempt to fly anything RC, drones, heli's and quads.

But now it is just youtube and a bit of model building here and there.....

Hi all!

My main... "hobby" other than models is 3d art. I say that in quotes cos I want that to be my career, being an artist, mainly making comics. This is an example from my Deviantart page: http://fav.me/db6n2bh. Otherwise, playing video games occasionally(havin a blast with Fallout 4 right now), and working on projects with my friend Jon. (we are working on a couple projects we will at some point in the near future post to YT.) I also collect Japanese robots, Godzilla and 1/6 figures.

Hahaha! You'd get along great with my roomate- he plays that game at least an hour a day!
I say it's got "it's hooks in him..."

As for myself, I collect original comic book art- here's my collection so far:
http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=103214

It's a great hobby in that I can frame everything and display the art in my home- and I've been very fortunate to have gotten art from many of my favorite artists and legendary comics creators.
