Recommendations for a good CA and plastic cement?
« on: Wed Jul, 11, 2018, 08:45:PM »
Hello

Been using Zap-a-gap Medium CA+ lately and it seems to take FOREVER to dry. Has CA changed over the last 10 years? I remember using the same stuff in high school and it worked really well. Bonded fairly quicky and the bond was strong. Seems like you need an acelerator for the stuff to set nowadays.

Is there something better out there that is gap filling?

Anyone use Mercury Adhesive CA?

I've had consistently good results from the Locktite gel CA .
I'm currently on a bottle of the Zap-A-gap , slo-zap  , slow cure .
I prefer more open time .
Haven't had any issues with the Zap  , yet   -- really haven't used much of it .
Try that Locktite gel .

For CA, Bob Smith Industries (BSI)

For styrene cement, can't go wrong with the Tamiya liquid glues, in Regular (White top), Extra Thin (dark green cap), and Extra Thin Quick Set (light green cap)
