Bandai Pacific Rim Uprising Jaegers
« on: Thu May, 17, 2018, 02:14:PM »
Up on the bench, we have the HG Pacific Rim Uprising Jaeger kits from Bandai
Building the Bracer Phoenix, Obsidian Fury, and, of course, Gipsy Avenger.

Bracer Phoenix was up first.
Parts:

They even included a miniature of Amara's Jaeger Scrapper

Out of the box construction complete.
I opted to build Phoneix with the rail guns extended

Next up was Obsidian Fury.
In this case, they also included orange clear versions of the blades to simulate the lit plasma fire

Primary construction complete.
The only paint at this point is on the housings for the plasma blades

Finally, we have Gipsy Avenger.
Unlike the others, this on can be lit with an LED kit afailable from Bandai

Construction complete, with reactor lit.
With Gipsy, we have options for the gravity sling, chainsowrd, and plasma caster

Went in and hand painted most of the markings by hand, rather than using the provided marking stickers for this
Gave all of the Jaegers a black wash to bring out detail, then wiped off the excess.
Scrapper was painted based of pics found on the web.
I also used my Dremel to open up the arms more, and remove the extra plastic from casting.
Obsidian Fury was drybrushed in gunmetal, given that the Jaeger was molded almost entirely in black
Gipsy Avenger was drybrushed lightly with silver.

Finished build pics:

I also picked up a couple of figures to help make the set more complete.
These were given a black wash to bring out detail and remove some of the 'toy' look they hand
