Small update...managed to get the basics of the undercarriage assembled. Went together surprisingly well. Basic paint job at the moment.

The decals turned out nicely as well.

Cheers @belugawrx they're a bugger to soften and take an age, but the settle down nicely. Managed a some more this weekend, mainly the larger decals then the finer ones once these are dried fully..

The only problem I have to figure out is the markings on the nose section for 54 Squadron, as the decal instructions aren't particularly clear. Further research needed I think?

Morning all, a big update, as all the finer detailed decals are now done.......and it took an age to do it too..

one or two to work through

The level of detail that academy have gone into for this kit is quite impressive.

I know the ammo ejection ports are slightly out of position, but they would not sit in the righ place.....

Next up will be the under carriage assembly and fitting, then some more detailed painting before a clear coat sealant....then done....

Any and all comments are welcomes.

Impressive.
You've put in a lot of markings that I would have likely skipped

Though I may as well do the scale justice....plus I'd feel that the kit wouldn't have been represented the way it should be as a Legendary Cold War aircraft of the RAF and a lot of other countries too.

So this weekend I managed to get the undercarriage, stores and some small details done. this is now about 99% done.....I may do some minor weathering....but not sure as yet...

DSC_1143

A slight issue with one of the front carriage actuators...it snapped in 2 when taking it off the sprue...some some very careful gluing and clentching and it seems to be staying in place.

Stores and flaps in place....

DSC_1146

Dried and sitting pretty....just enough weight in the nose to keep it down.

The nose gear is a bit flimsy though.....

Thoughts, comments, any pointers on how to improve are all welcomed.

Hope you all enjoy?
