Hasegawa 1:72 scale SR-71 Blackbird Gravestone
« on: Mon Nov, 06, 2017, 03:02:AM »
I've started on this project this past summer.

Here I have accomplished a strobe! I have to thank Grendels again for being a guide on this.

Should look VERY good when you're finished

A few years ago I built a 1:72 Blackbird by Italeri, so this time I think I will be able to make this one even MOAR BETTER.

So Blackbird, when I left you I was but a learner. Now I am the master!

Here's an update. It took me several attempts at resculpting the pilots that Urumomo was kind to send to me. They were originally astronauts from a Revell kit, and I've never had experience with resculpting stuff before. They don't look very great, but they'll be mostly hidden in the cockpit anyway.

It's looking great!

I've been resisting military stuff, but I recently picked up a 1/72 FA-18C hornet and was looking for this one. The prices  on it are ridiculous though

This Gravestone model is a LE kit, so that's probably why it is going up in price. When I looked to get a Hasegawa Blackbird on YAJ, the only auction I saw was for this one, and I got it for a decent price. They haven't popped this kit for a while, so I am sure sooner or later they will come out with another release.

Blakeh, you are in luck. Hasegawa is repopping their Blackbird and it's scheduled for April.

Whoops, I missed this a while ago, but hey, it's almost April 24th!

Thanks for the heads up!
