Well I wanted to work on something different for a change, so I started a new project.   Sorry no pictures at the moment, but I will get some up later

Looking forward to this, John, especially painting and lighting.

Thanks, it is a small one, not as small as some of the things you have done, but small for what I want to do with it.

I mentioned this on the video's comments, but I will repeat it for people here. Tetryon Parts has some fantastic aftermarket parts for this kit. All I got was the torpedo launch bay because the detail of the kit's is really lacking and this is my favorite part of this ship (along with the nacelles).

I just went to  their site and the prices are good, but they have shut down for a bit.  No mention of when they will come back.

I did find a photoetch set that will help with window drilling....

Oh crap, I didn't realize they were closed. That's a shame.

Yep, I would have bought the complete set, it would have made things much easier for me.

This is a great project and your Trek modeling is really spot on.

The decals are pretty forgiving because they are sturdy. However, you will need to use some Tamiya Mark Fit Strong or something equivalent to get them to fold down around the edge of the saucer.

Thanks for the warning, I have both Mr. decal, and the stuff made by Microsol.

Tamiya's Mark Fit Strong is more potent than their regular Mark Fit, Mr. Mark Softer, or MicroSol. It's good to have as your "heavy artillery" when necessary. The positive thing about these decals is that your chances of them ripping are lower.

I got good results just using the regular MiroSol. Just make sure to cut slits in the ends that are supposed to roll over the edge of the hull

Thank you for the tips, I won't get to the decals for a while now, the circuits for the blinky lights have been giving me fits, I had two of the resistor values backwards and wasted two hours trying to figure out what is wrong....

You've inspired me to get back into decaling my Refit. I started aztecing the bottom of the saucer. The first one went on fine, and the next two got cracked and couldn't be pulled off the paper whole. Crap. I dumped Micro Set into my airbrush tonight and sprayed the decal sheets. Before, I only had one that shattered a bit. But after having two in a row go bad on me, I wanted to try putting down a coat of Micro Set to keep the decals stronger. I'll try another one (hopefully) soon and if that didn't work, then I will spray these with Testors Decal Bonder.
