Best product for ultra gloss coat?
« on: Sun Nov, 20, 2016, 05:35:PM »
I'm trying to make a car look really shiny.  I tried my Vallejo gloss varnish, but its just not quite shiny enough.  I've read in the past that Future floor polish is the way to go, but I've can't find it in any store locally and even Amazon doesn't have it.

When I search for it on Amazon, the first product that comes up is Pledge Floor Care Multi Surface Finish.  In the reviews, some people have commented they used it as a substitute for Future.

Anyone have any experience with this product, or other recommendations?

Also, won't this totally gum up my airbrush, necessitating a full cleaning of all the parts?

Thanks!

It's the same thing, just a different label.

Yep  -  same .
It's just an acrylic   --  you won't need to thin it .
Just clean up the AB like you would with regular old acrylic  - -

Here's the ingredients to compare  :    ( you can make your own   ;)  )

Ok thanks, I'm going to experiment with some rustoleum gloss coat and see if that works too.  The idea of shooting floor polish out of my gun seems ridiculous, but if it works it works I guess!   :P

That Rust-Oleum is good stuff  .
That's an acrylic also .

Rattle can lacquers give you a really hi-gloss finish too .

Future ain't any problem in the AB
I did ALL of the top-coat on this thing with Future only  ,  tinted with inks & dyes  ----> http://www.scalemodeladdict.com/SMF/index.php/topic,12882.0.html

It's actually 10 times easier dealing with it in the AB  ,  no pigments !
I was able to just flush the brush throughout the day and not continuously break it down between colors   ..
It's the opposite of what you're expecting

All those chemicals they add to make it level on the floor make it flow thru the brush beautifully.
Make sure you get the right stuff   -- they make one that I think does contain wax   -- don't want that   ;)
